Software Architect

The Software Architect will spearhead software development activities for the company's core product and will oversee architecture and design choices, technology selection, and the development and on-time delivery of software releases. The Software Architect will actively participate in defining and communicating the technology roadmap and product direction.

Primary Responsibilities:
-Sets technical direction and standard development practices for the company's core product and software development team
-Owns the development plan, timelines, and deliverables associated with all software releases
-Researches, designs, and reviews software to ensure they are to appropriate specifications.
-Works closely with Product Management, Quality, and Application Development functions in the planning and execution of software releases
-Generates technical documentation and powerpoint presentations necessary to communicate architectural and design options, and educate development teams on new system capabilities
-Collects and reports on development metrics identifying opportunities for improvement
-Continually solicits feedback and input on areas requiring optimization or refactoring
-Directs and mentors developers in industry best practices, procedures, and concepts

Qualifications:
-B.S. in Computer Science or related major desired, M.S. preferred
-12+ years experience in the complete software development lifecycle
-12+ years experience in object oriented programming, web application development, SaaS, high availability, multi-tenant environment
-5-7+ years as a Software Architect
-Recognized leader in building and developing teams
-Strong verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills
-Experience working with pharmaceutical, biotech or medical device companies and an understanding of FDA 21 CFR Part 11, HIPAA, and ISO 9000 or CMM is preferred but not required

Summary:

The Software Architect will spearhead software development activities for the company's core product and will oversee architecture and design choices, technology selection, and the development and on-time delivery of software releases. The Software Architect will actively participate in defining and communicating the technology roadmap and product direction. This position requires a Bachelors Degree, Masters Degree preferred, a minimum of 8 years experience in the complete software development lifecycle and object oriented programming, web application development, SaaS and a multi-tenant environment. The ideal candidate will have experience working in the pharmaceutical, biotech or medical device companies with an understanding of FDA 21 CFR Part 11, HIPAA. Candidate must have strong verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills.
